Welcome to “Taste Matters” where I dish up some tasty tidbits, a kitchen tip or two, my current cookbook crush, some menu ideas to get you through your week from some of my food blogger friends, a weekend entertaining menu and recipe roundups for even more meal ideas!
Erica said: “I used this recipe last night for a dinner for 6 (Silence of the Lambs/Hannibal Lecter themed)… the “skinned” pears in a deep red syrup were perfect! (I wish I could post a photo!) I doubled the recipe for the sauce and poached 7 pears. I have leftover syrup that I will use over ice cream, or maybe even in cocktails …it’s unbelievably delicious!
I’ve anxiously been awaiting the arrival of this new cookbook from Yotam Ottolenghi as I have all of his other cookbooks and love them! The creative London-based chef is out with a cookbook filled with pared-back brilliance for busy cooks:
- S – Short on Time
- I – Ingredients: 10 or Fewer
- M – Make Ahead
- P – Pantry-Led
- L – Lazy-Day Dishes
- E – Easier Than You Think
There are so many beautiful and creative recipes in this cookbook, it’s hard to know which ones to list! A great value at only $21!
