Welcome to “Taste Matters” at From A Chef’s Kitchen where I dish up some tasty tidbits, a kitchen tip or two, my current cookbook crush, some menu ideas from some of my food blogger friends to get you through your week, a weekend entertaining menu, recipe roundups and perhaps even speak my mind!
Hey, everyone! Thanks for joining me again for Taste Matters!
When I do this weekly post, I try to find little nuggets of information and “food for thought” that’s different from recipes or food talk. With fall right around the corner and kids going back to school, there is a routine or rhythm we all fall back into. I think this is true even if you don’t have kids.
There’s nothing wrong with routine, schedules and life humming along with good beats and rhythms. However, I think sometimes we fall prey to too much routine. I found a wonderful article yesterday that I’m sharing in the Food for Thought section of Taste Matters. It’s about a husband realizing he had forgotten about all the treasured moments he and his wife had when they were falling in love. They had fallen into a routine a little too much. Can you relate? I sure can.

I’m a huge fan of Donna Hay, who is Australia’s answer to Martha Stewart. We’re bombarded on a daily basis with what we need to eat less of and more of. Balance is the secret ingredient to how this busy food and lifestyle personality stays feeling energized and happy. Life in Balance is an everyday approach to healthful eating.
