Easy Low-Carb Side Dish!

Fried Cabbage with Bacon is a fast and flavorful Southern-inspired low-carb side. This simple recipe quickly sautés sweet cabbage with smoky bacon for an easy, delicious accompaniment.

 Ingredients

Bacon, Onions, Chicken Broth, Garlic, Butter, Cabbage, Parsley, Salt & Pepper

Slice up the bacon, fry it in a skillet until crispy and browned, 5-6 minutes, then transfer to a paper towel to drain and reserve that flavorful bacon fat for cooking the cabbage.

Toss the onion in the pan, let it cook on medium until softened, about 5-6 minutes, then mix in the garlic just until you get a whiff of its fragrance.

Toss in the cabbage and cook, stirring often, for 8-10 minutes until it wilts down and gets lightly browned.

Push the cabbage to the side, pour the chicken broth into the cleared space (avoid pouring over the cabbage), let it come to a boil, and cook 3-4 minutes until nearly evaporated.

Time To Add Butter... Stir to Melt It Down!

Almost There!

Stir the crispy bacon back into the cabbage to reheat, season with salt and pepper, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve up this Southern-style side while it's hot!
